Southern Utah mountain biking trails offer panoramic views of some of the world’s most fantastic scenery, from narrow canyons to towering monoliths to forested plateaus. Bike Zion offers guided mountain biking excursions, scenic road cycling trips, and bike rentals for those wishing to immerse themselves in the area’s unique landscape on their own. Both our guided mountain biking tours and scenic road cycling trips include meals, accommodations, and interpretation of the area’s geology, history and folklore by one of our well-versed guides. Additionally, our road cycling tours feature a support vehicle. We rent a wide variety of bikes, including full suspension bikes, road bikes, comfort bikes, trail-a-bikes, children’s bikes, and even vehicle bike carriers.

We offer single day and multi day mountain biking tours from our base camp at Zion Mountain Resort, one of southern Utah’s finest lodging destinations. Located a few miles outside the east entrance of Zion National Park on State Highway 9, the resort offers private log cabins with king beds, satellite television, a jetted tub, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The cabins surround a field where buffalo roam. The resort also has its own restaurant, The Buffalo Grille, which offers both indoor and patio dining and a full menu ranging from cheeseburgers to buffalo fillets.

We conduct guided mountain biking tours on three main trails with diverse scenery, one of which is Gooseberry Mesa. The Gooseberry Mesa Trail lies just west of Zion National Park on a tabletop mesa. Its numerous paths provide rides suitable for all mountain biking skill sets. The slickrock/dirt trail meanders through stands of pinion and juniper among red and white sandstone. The trail features no sustained uphill climbs but quick turns and brief ups and downs. In addition to its spectacular vistas of Zion’s towering monoliths, bikers on the trail might catch a glimpse of chipmunks, deer, jackrabbits, lizards and squirrels. Riders will also be delighted with the trail’s petrified wood and dinosaur tracks.
